Prostate Care

Prostate Care

180 Capsules

Grand Health Prostate Care combines Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin Seed and Lycopene. The combination of Saw Palmetto and Pumpkin seed have been widely used to prevent and/or treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) conditions and have been found to be effective in roughly 90 percent of men. In addition, lycopene is added since its antioxidative property is proven to be the most bioavailable for men to prevent and relief prostative symptoms.

Saw Palmetto
Saw Palmetto was traditionally used as a remedy for chronic cystitis (bladder inflammation), urinary tract infections, sex hormone disorders, impotence and frigidity, and respiratory tract diseases. Today, saw palmetto is most widely used as an herbal remedy for benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) symptoms, including discomfort and excessive nighttime urination. Both German Commission E and Health Canada¹s Natural Health Products¹ monograph have also recognized its property to relieve the urologic symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Pumpkin Seed
The applicable part of pumpkin is the seed. Pumpkin seeds contain as much as 35% fatty oil, 38% protein, and 37% carbohydrate content. The seed oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, including 47% linoleic acid, 29% oleic acid, 14% palmitic acid, and 8% stearic acid. Pumpkin seed oil can exhibit a diuretic effect, which can relieve bladder discomfort, causing the perception of reduced prostate gland swelling without reducing the gland size. The phytosterol constituents are also believed to affect urine flow. Animal research suggests it might improve bladder and urethral function, which might help BPH symptoms. The German commission E also recognizes pumpkin seed for its ability to relief irriated bladder condition, micturition problems of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) states I and II.

Lycopene
Lycopene is the most powerful antioxidant amongst carotenoids. Beside the antioxidant effect it influences the expression of various proteins (enzymes of biotransformation, cyclin D1, connexins). According to epidemiologic studies tomato lycopene may reduce the risk of prostate cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Positive effects are also hypothesized in case of other diseases such as osteoporosis, neurodegenerative diseases and hypertension. Neither adverse effects upon lycopene supplementation nor lycopene toxicity have been reported. Therefore, several arguments support the consumption of natural lycopene, whilst there are no contraindications according to the present knowledge. Human studies show that high intakes of tomato products and high serum levels of lycopene, dramatically reduce the risk of porstate disease.
